Planning Pod alternative

A Planning Pod alternative for wedding planners.

Planning Pod's homepage now leads with venues. If your work is planning weddings for clients, here is where Kruspin differs, and where Planning Pod still does more.

Guest list with attendance, contact details and guest groups
The sample wedding you get in your own account after signing up.

Who each one is for

A venue platform and a wedding workspace.

  • Planning Pod

Its homepage headline is “One platform to run your venue.” Its FAQ says planners without a venue can use it too, “but our software, support, and roadmap are venue-first.” Its feature list covers bookings, banquet event orders, floor plans, lead capture, contracts and payments. You start by scheduling a demo.

  • Kruspin

For planners, agencies and venue teams who run the wedding itself: guests and RSVP, seating, rooms by night, the timeline and the documents each vendor receives. You create an account and try it on a sample wedding.

Where Planning Pod does more

Stay with Planning Pod if you need these.

  • Contracts and e-signatures

    Kruspin has neither.

  • Invoices and online payments

Kruspin tracks payments but does not collect them.

  • Venue sales and banquet event orders

Planning Pod lists a booking calendar, banquet event orders and tour scheduling for venues.

  • Registration and ticketing

For events that sell tickets. Kruspin does not.

What Kruspin adds

Where planners feel the difference.

  • Rooms by night

Assign guests to rooms separately for each night; reception gets an alphabetical list with every stay and room.

  • Each vendor's own documents

The DJ sees only their items on the timeline; the kitchen gets course times, counts and dietary restrictions.

  • The couple in the same wedding

No separate portal copy to maintain. Your internal threads and tasks stay hidden from them.

  • Templates that follow the date

Your task list, timeline and RSVP questions carry over to the next wedding with dates recalculated.

Switching

Move one wedding first.

  1. Keep weddings in progress where they are

Start your next booked wedding in Kruspin. The two tools do not sync.

  2. Upload the guest list

Export it as CSV or Excel, upload it and map the columns in the preview.

  3. Invite the couple when you are ready

They add guests and responses themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about switching from Planning Pod.

Did not find an answer? Write to us through the page support.

Is Planning Pod still for wedding planners?

Planners can use it, but its own FAQ said on October 31, 2026 that “our software, support, and roadmap are venue-first.” A separate page describes its features for wedding planning firms.

Does Kruspin handle contracts and payments?

No. Kruspin tracks the budget, vendor deposits and a payment plan, but it does not send contracts for e-signature, issue invoices or take card payments from couples. Keep the tool you use for that today.

Can I bring guest lists from Planning Pod?

Yes, if your current tool or spreadsheet exports them. Upload a CSV or XLSX file, or paste rows, and map the columns in the preview. It is a one-time import; nothing syncs back.

Can my couples log in?

Yes. Invite them by email when you want them to add guests and responses themselves. They work in the same wedding without your internal threads and tasks, and budget items, prices and payments are read-only for them.

What happens after I create an account?

You get your own account with a sample wedding, so you can try guests, seating and vendor documents before you create your first wedding. The next step appears after you sign in.
